In the context of the European strategy for data announced by the EU in 2020, the Data Act (DA) has been adopted since June 2023, and the Data Governance Act (DGA) has recently entered into force in September 2023.

The evident widespread interest among stakeholders involved in data-sharing ecosystems has pushed GAIA-X and the Governance and Regulation Chair to co-host this hybrid Conference on “Data Sharing in Europe: Data Governance Act and Data Act” last September 19th, 2023.

In this event, the Gaia-X Institute together with the Governance and Regulation Chair have organized a one-day hybrid-conference at the University Paris-Dauphine to discuss among key stakeholder groups, including policy makers, industry representatives, and researchers, the alternative implementation strategies for DGA and DA, their promises, and risks.

Óscar Lázaro, CEO of Innovalia and Coordinator of the Data Space 4.0 Initiative, participated in the pitches on stakeholder perspectives on the legal, governance, business, technology and ethical aspects, in which the DFA was able to meet other people interested in contributing to sectoral data spaces, and the trust, sovereignty and interoperability that European regulations provide in this area.

The Digital Factory Alliance (DFA) was present in this event to promote the understanding of the impact of this new regulatory framework and discuss the different strategies available to implement it.
