Fagor Arrasate  and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland are working together in one of the pilot cases of the QU4LITY project. The focus is on the Digital Press machines of Fagor Arrasate, aiming towards Zero Defect Manufacturing (ZDM) by predicting the transfer behavior of the machines.

To serve this goal, the data analysis technology provided by VTT allows  machine operator to see if the machine is working properly, by analyzing  sensor measurements and other parameters, such as torque values, machine temperature and control parameters. Prediction models were created using the parameters and machine health can be estimated by comparing predicted behavior with real measurements. 

The analysis system has been developed to analyze the collected data and deduct conclusions about the status of the equipment. The analysis tool enables a well-timed planning of repair activities that minimizes the interruptions in machine usage and avoids quality issues.
