AI and Robotics for Smart Manufacturing

The manufacturing domain has been clearly identified as one of the main verticals that will be radically transformed during the next years thanks to the introduction of new digital technologies and, in particular, Artificial Intelligence and robotics solutions. The digital transformation brought by the Industry 4.0 paradigm implies the opportunity to reinforce the competitiveness and sovereignty of Europe’s productive fabric in a globalized economy, by increasing the flexibility, adaptability, sustainability and efficiency of the manufacturing process while improving the quality of the resulting products or even enabling their recycling possibilities.
During this webinar, some of the main use-cases for the usage of AI and robotics solutions in manufacturing will be presented (e.g., demand forecasting, predictive maintenance, zero-defect manufacturing, co-bots). The specific case of the H2020 Decenter project will be presented in detail, where Atos and Robotnik have collaborated in the implementation of an object detection system to be embedded in an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) for safely interacting with human workers and other robots during the navigation.
