Industry 4.0 stakeholders feature at the present time an unprecedented level of automation in the field of Autonomous Quality (AQ) and Zero-Defect Manufacturing (ZDM), where different systems must be able to communicate and interact along the value chain. Building secure, maintainable and efficient solutions therefore requires compliance and implementation of relevant standards depending on the specific use case and its requirements.
To fully leverage the added value of industrial data, stakeholders need a common approach that enables trust, quality and interoperability along the entire data value chain. In particular, it is important to develop a consistent and up-to-date terminology, as this will improve communication between stakeholders, thus increasing efficiency and avoiding misunderstandings when implementing ZDM solutions. For this reason, practical recommendations and internationally agreed norms and standards, e.g. addressing security, artificial intelligence, terms and definitions, data interoperability, and quality, need to be addressed and utilized in ZDM solutions.
The main purpose of this Open Dialogue is to exchange views and share information, on various methods and techniques as well as best practices that can be applied to identify standardization needs for compliance and interoperability to advance digital technologies in AQ and ZDM. The Open Dialogue is intended to help enhance open discussion on relevant standardization activities and needs, increase observer engagement, and gather opinions from various stakeholders, relevant parties, and industry.
