2 – Challenge, Value & Description
Challenge
By analyzing machine data, algorithms can be developed for the predictive maintenance of individual machine components. This requires a secure and reliable exchange of data between the machine operator and the machine manufacturer. With the technologies currently in use, this is either not possible or only possible to a limited extent
Value
Data space technology enables secure and sovereign data exchange across company boundaries. This facilitates the development of smart software products aimed at improving service performance. As a result, productivity is increased and, in particular, maintenance costs are reduced.
Description
As part of the pilot, machine- and component-related data from CNC machines, along with part quality data generated by a coordinate measuring machine, will be exchanged. This data exchange enables the development of new services for predictive maintenance and improved component quality.

3 – Performance, Access & Contact Info
Performance
By using EDC connectors, secure gateways to a company’s data infrastructure are established. This enables the significant advantage of cross-company data processing. Work is currently underway to improve the interoperability of the exchanged data.
